Danyka Nadeau is a normal 20 year old music student at York University with one exception...a voice that is making waves across the country! The musical talent and voice of Danyka have impressed millions of people worldwide via her YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/redlightarrest), where she records amazing cover versions of hit songs, and more recently the Canadian music television station MuchMusic. In June 2011, Danyka was selected as the winner of the first ever MuchMusic Covers Contest, and presented an MMVA. Beating out thousands of other entries, her videos were voted the most popular by MuchMusic viewers. Danyka continues to record covers, which her fans love. Her most recent cover of Alex Clare’s “Too Close” is receiving amazing reviews, with her covers channel sitting above 3 million views and 14,000 subscribers.

However, it is Danyka’s latest single “Second Best” that finally is landing her in the big leagues. In October 2012, Danyka’s debut music video for her single “Second Best” premiered on MuchMusic and has been in heavy rotation ever since. Directed by MMVA winner Mike Portoghese, the MuchFACT supported video was shot in downtown Toronto. According to Danyka, “Mike was amazing at creating a video that captured the idea of the song and brought Second Best to life. He made every part of the process such an amazing experience!”

The single is coupled with an amazing remix EP, released on Champion Beats Records. It has some of Canada’s best up and coming EDM producers including Electro-house heavy hitters Stereotronique and The Incredible Melting Man, along with Damian Rushton – Canadian tech- house artist Poupon’s new “big room” alias.

This summer, Danyka performed at 3 dates of the Coca-Cola Olympic Tour across Canada, including a packed show at Dundas Square in Toronto. Last year, she performed at We Day Vancouver for 20,000 people and La Festival Foire Brayonne in Edmunston, NB for 10,000 people. Danyka has shared the stage with Shawn Desman, Hedley, Down With Webster, and many other amazing acts.

Danyka continues to spend countless hours writing songs and practicing piano and guitar, perfecting her craft. She is currently working on a follow up release to her latest single “Second Best,” which is due to come out in 2013. Her upcoming single “Heartbeat” shows Danyka’s more sensitive side as she sings about her relationship problems.
