Pluto is the first discovered object in the Kuiper belt, the dwarf planet with the largest volume and the second largest mass known in the solar system, and also the largest overseas object, whose mass is next to that of Eris in the discrete disk. Pluto ranks ninth in volume and tenth in mass among objects that orbit the sun directly.
